Refinishing outdated cabinets is a great way to bring a fresh look to your home. Whether they are in your kitchen, home office or built-in entertainment center, refinished cabinets can provide an entirely new appearance, changing up an entire room. Not to mention, refinishing projects add serious value to a home at a fraction of the cost of replacing the cabinetry.

The Painting & Wallcovering Co. makes sure to complete the necessary prep work needed to have your cabinets looking like new. For a smooth finish, the wood grain of your cabinets may need to be filled. We will meticulously sand the cabinets to create a flawless end product. Whatever your cabinets may need, we can assure you that we will do whatever it takes to make them look like new.

Choosing a new look for your cabinets may be the most difficult part. There are a variety of options for your finish. Are you looking for a clean modern look? Toning with gel stain?  Weathered? Antiqued? Glazed? Whatever you may decide, we have the experience and expertise to make it happen.

Take a look at this project that we completed during the 2018 Holiday crunch. There is a lot of work that goes into that “after” photo. A glimpse of our process is listed below.

• Tape and mask floors, counters, and all other surface which are to remain unpainted

• Remove doors, drawer fronts, and hardware from cabinet boxes

• Sand, clean, and de-gloss office cabinetry

• Fill oak graining with a brush on filler and sand smooth

• Isolate the office area from the rest of the house with removable plastic “walls”

• Provide adequate exhaust and ventilation for onsite spray application

• Paint cabinetry with three-part lacquer spray finishing system – prime (2 coats), color coat, and clear coat

• Doors and drawers spray finished off site

• Unmask surfaces and remove plastic walls

• Reinstall all doors and hardware

All for the final product!
